Celebrate Spring With Nozomi Featuring Limited-Time Menu Items Like Asari Ikura Gohan, Tai Capellini & Capraccio!

An indulgent Spring blossom menu at an affordable price

Another thing that I always look forward to when Spring season approaches is the Sakura-themed treats! I was tickled pink when I found out about nozomi’s Spring Specials – my first catch of the season. Furthermore, nozomi offers a friendlier price-point to cater to changing market demand without compromising on quality. This is what I would return for and this is why I’ve been looking forward to sharing about nozomi with you.

If you haven’t heard about nozomi yet, do check out our article here! nozomi has 3 outlets, and the one we visited was nozomi Forum. The photos I have below speak for themselves on how thoughtfully curated and crafted they are. At the same time, nozomi’s delicate flavours and level of commitment to offer fresh seasonal produce despite its casual dining concept are what makes them approachable. Naturally, their menu items are freshly-made too so there will be a waiting time between 15 - 30 minutes depending on what you order.

We had 4 out of 9 items from the Spring Specials, thank you Adele & team from nozomi for hosting us!

Now feast your eyes folks!

Tai Carpaccio ($24)

This looks simple doesn’t it? Though it’s actually my favourite. It’s a dazzling explosion of flavours! nozomi’s Tai Carpaccio puts the spotlight on tai and hotate, with the goodness of carpaccio dressing in the background. Sealing the deal is a generous sprinkle of truffle caviar. Newcomers to sushi and sashimi, tai doesn’t have much ‘fishy’ flavour so it generally has an agreeable taste for one’s first try.

Spring Dragon Roll ($20)

I like how nozomi’s sashimi is light, fresh and thickly sliced! This pink magic happens when the ebi and tamagoyaki sushi roll is wrapped with tai, hirame, and avocado. Pretty for the gram and delectable for the taste buds too. Mine’s enjoyed with an extra brush of soy sauce and wasabi.

Asari Ikura Gohan ($26)

Unlike regular sushi rice that is common almost anywhere we go here, nozomi’s rice is prepared using red vinegar. Did you know? One element that greatly affects the taste of sushi rice is the type of vinegar used to season it. This red vinegar gives the grains a lighter sourish note or gentle sweetness that doesn't overwhelm the fresh ingredients that complement it. Time to bask in the comfort of this Asari Ikura Gohan, where asari clams, shiitake mushroom, shoyu, and rice blaze a trail in one donabe pot! Best for 2/3 pax and for an individual too if you’re only having this item.

Tai Capellini with Yuzu Olive Oil ($22)

Last, but never the least. Say konnichiwa to their Tai Capellini with Yuzu Olive Oil! nozomi takes this pasta dish up a notch by integrating the flavour of citrus yuzu olive oil and ikura. Yuzu is revered for its highly fragrant skin, light, sweet flavor but a lot of that tanginess you’re looking for when you pick up a citrus. It’s notably popular in snack foods and its juice is used in cooking frequently just like this one. Plus point because they’re topped with lotus root chips mmm oishii dayo!

Born out of circumstance in 2020, nozomi is a reflection of the hope that nourished and sustained us during the covid 19 pandemic (fittingly meaning ‘hope’ in Japanese のぞみ / 望み). It sure did satisfy my Sakura meal cravings and made me hopeful for next year’s Spring menu please!

If you've been wanting to try out their Spring menu or maybe this is the first time that you’ve heard about nozomi, swing by and they will be happy to seat you with their irasshaimase (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ

All nozomi’s menu are also available for both takeaways and deliveries when you order online. Check them out and see if it suits your fancy.
