6 Favourite Halal Japanese Restaurants With Food Delivery!

New Covid-19 restrictions got you a little down?

While the new Covid-19 restrictions have definitely put a damper on our sashimi buffet plans, this doesn’t mean that you are devoid of your favorite Japanese meals!

We have compiled 6 of our favorite Japanese restaurants that you can enjoy in the comfort and safety of your own home while waiting to dine out again.

Oh, and did we mention? They are all halal certified!

  1. Ichikokudo Hokkaido Ramen

You don’t have to travel to Hokkaido for authentic Hokkaido ramen anymore. For most, it is as easy as a few taps on your phone.

Ichikokudo Hokkaido Ramen’s signature soup is prepared with fresh chicken, vegetables, and a blend of ingredients from Hokkaido, including bonito, mackerel, and kelp. The result is a rich, dense soup with umami flavors, boiled to perfection by their Japanese chefs. Ichikokudo Hokkaido Ramen also uses noodles produced using Hokkaido wheat, to keep the taste of their ramen as authentic as possible.

Their original Ichikokudo Ramen features a rich shoyu based ramen. Boiled with seafood and chicken, the soup is tangy, sweet, and salty but still remains light on the palette. The ramen is also topped with aosa seaweed to evoke the taste of the Hokkaido sea.

If shoyu ramen isn’t your thing, why not try their Hokkai seafood ramen?

Topped with garlic, the taste is layered and refreshing, reminiscent of the Northern Sea. The broth extracts the natural salts of various fish and premium ingredients like shrimp and scallops! The name Hokkai Ramen Gifts from the Sea is reflective of the ingredients of the bowl, topped with a crab leg, shell on scallops, and shrimps, this premium bowl of seafood ramen is only $19.90 a bowl!

Their signature item, Volcano Beef Don features premium succulent flame-grilled beef, served on top of a bed of seasoned beansprouts or stewed cabbage on top of a steaming bowl of rice. The volcano aspect comes from a hot and spicy sauce that is made in-house, giving the dish a slightly spicy finish.

4. Fu-Men Japanese Udon & Donburi Restaurant

Let’s be real, halal Japanese eateries are hard to come by in Singapore.

A halal Japanese eatery with Hakata udon? Even harder.

Fu-men Japanese Udon & Donburi Restaurant is the product of the combined efforts and love for Japanese food from owners Sharon, Toshihiro-san, and business partner Chef Teppei Yamashita— Who also happens to be known for his famous Teppei restaurants in Singapore. Located in Hong Leong Building, the Hakata udon stall is worth a trip down to CBD for!

Hakata udon comes from Hakata, a district in Fukuoka. The udon style is uncommon in Singapore and is usually only found in Japan. The restaurant prides itself on its authentic preparation; the broth is made with sardines, tuna, saba fish, Japanese anchovies, and kelp, and is watched closely to ensure that it doesn’t develop a burnt aftertaste, much like how Japanese chefs would prepare their udon back home.

Their signature item, Japanese Burdock Tempura Udon Soup is native to Fukuoka. The burdock is coated in crispy tempura batter, and diners have the option of choosing soup or dry options. If you decide to go for the dry option, you get to choose if you want to have it hot or cold!
