DAIZU Cafe: Japanese-Western Fusion Minimalist Lifestyle Concept

A 5 minutes walk from the Farrer Park MRT station, DAIZU planted their roots in the heart of Rangoon Road right by their fellow cafe counterparts like the Old Hen Coffee Bar, Mosanco Enchanted Cafe and The Brunches Cafe.

DAIZU - “大豆” in Japanese is a concept centered around holistic usage of soy, nutrition and sustainability in daily living.

Minimalist Loft Style Cafe with high ceiling, open and light-filled spaces.

Clad in white brick walls with clean lines and a warm monochromatic palette, DAIZU Cafe is a feast for the eyes - this place screams aesthetics wherever you turn, nailing interior decor details down to a T. Bernard, our host from DAIZU Cafe envisions a Daizu Community where everyone can zen, catch up over brunch and coffee in the day, declutter with wine and alcohol over dinner at night.

DAIZU Fur Kids - Pets are very welcome!

Don’t be surprised if you bump into a couple of fur friends at their alfresco dining area right at the entrance when popping by. Reservations for pets are very welcome! We couldn’t hold back our smiles as our host Bernard mentioned that they even had a "reservation” by a pet parrot made that day but the parrot cancelled in end.

Japanese-Western Fusion Food

Curry Aioli Fries $8 - Shoestring Fries tossed with Signature spices served with house specialty Curry Aioli Dip. When asked what’s an underrated dish that DAIZU would like more people to try, this Curry Aioli Fries is the answer - their own rendition of the “McDonalds Curry Sauce”

Mentaiko Fries $12 - We just had to try the mentaiko fries, you can do no wrong with mentaiko (on fries, on rice, on anything really - sign me up!). So I’m a strong advocate for Genki’s Mentaiko Fries and albeit these being a little on the saltier side for me - i would still order it nevertheless. They were extremely generous with the mentaiko sauce (torched), furikake and bonito flakes - you definitely get what you’re paying for!
