Kou Teppan: New 7-Course Teppan Set Menu Featuring Prized Japanese Beef (A5 Satsumagyu) And More

Teppanyaki specialty restaurant at Great World, Kou Teppan refreshes their Teppan Set and Omakase menus with the introduction of the prized Satsumagyu (薩摩牛), a top-tier wagyu variety from Kagoshima Prefecture. This premium beef is raised exclusively by only 12 elite award-winning Meijin Wagyu Farmers, celebrated for its exceptional marbling and superior meat quality.

Their signature Teppan Set menu levels up from 5 to 7 courses, with prices ranging from $36 to $78, available for both lunch and dinner. The Table Set course starts with Chef’s Salad, Kobachi (small bowl), Teppan Main, Chef's Soup, Classic Kamameshi, Pickles and rounds off with Dessert. On top of its signature Satsumagyu Ichibo Set ($58), other Teppan Main options include Matsukasa-Style Amadai Set ($38), Garlic Chicken Thigh Set ($36), Roasted French Duck Breast Set ($46), Iberico Pork Abanico* Set ($46), Seasonal Fish with 2 Kinds Seafood ($46), and A4 Satsumagyu Sirloin Set ($78) *special rare cut from the “Wagyu of pork”

It was our first time having Satsuwagyu and Iberico Pork Abanico. We were pleasantly surprised by the balance of fat and meat, it was flavourful yet less oily than the usual wagyu which some may find rather fatty. Its exterior was nicely charred and cooked medium while the inside was cooked medium rare and bursting with umami. The Iberico Pork Abanico is the part that wraps the Iberico ribs from the outside, celebrated as the perfect Iberian pork cut to cook on the grill. We certainly enjoyed savouring the tasty, juicy and crispy slices of delicious pork.

Alternatively, you can also get a taste of the new Satsumagyu on their refreshed omakase menu, now upped from 7 to 8 courses, with prices ranging from $68 to $118. Begin with Chef’s Starters (vary according to availability of ingredients), followed by Teppan Appetiser, Cartoccio Soup, Teppan Mushimono and Chef’s Salad after. For mains, additional options include Lamb Rack ($78), Half Lobster & Japanese Oyster ($108), A4 Satsumagyu Tenderloin ($118) and more. Choose either Teppan Rice or Kamameshi to pair with the array of dishes before rounding off your meal with a Chef’s Dessert.

Haku Sushi’s refreshed omakase menu offers 2 courses ranging from $78 to $118. Weekday lunch and dinner sets are also available from $28 to $118.
