Review: Menya Kokoro At 100AM Celebrates 5th Anniversary With New Outlet-Exclusive Izakaya Menu
Reputed mazesoba chain, Menya Kokoro marks its 5th birthday with an exciting izakaya menu exclusively available at their 100AM outlet, complete with a handpicked selection of sake and beers! From 5pm to 8pm daily, the restaurant also offers the best-value free-flow drink offer ($19.80++ for 60mins) in the central business district! Read on to find out more!
Small Plates
On the new izakaya menu are 28 items featuring classic Japanese bar bites. There is a good selection of scrumptious hot and fried delights as well as cold dishes such as Spinach Salad ($4.80) and Cold Tofu ($2.80).
One of the must-try items on our list is the Tempura Tamagoyaki with Mentai Sauce ($6.20)- fried dashi-flavoured rolled omelette coated with tempura batter, topped with mentai sauce with a generous dollop of mentaiko. An uplifting sweet and savoury egg delicacy!
Addictive beer snacks include Ikageso Karaage($8.80)- these flavourful deep fried squid tentacles are perfect to go with a pint of ice-cold beer! Kawaebi($5.80) features deep-fried little river prawns, packed with sweet and savoury flavours, finished with a squeeze of refreshing lemon juice.
Another crunchy indulgence is the Cheese Fries($6.20)- perfectly fried shoestring fries topped with bacon bits for an extra oomph.
Grilled Dishes
Teppan Pork Okonomiyaki($6.20) is a delectable savoury pancake packed with pork slices and cabbage, drizzled with okonomiyaki sauce and mayonnaise.
Teppan Mini Gyu Sukiyaki ($8.80) presents beef sukiyaki on a hot steel plate. This Japanese comfort food consists of thinly sliced beef with onions, marinated in a mirin and soy based sauce. Pick up the flavoured bite-size tofu slices for a different texture.
