Premium Large Amaou Red Strawberry

These were super sweet, juicy and huge! It’s a good balance of acidity and sweetness. We thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it!

Japanese Le Lectier Pear

Le Lectier Pears are only available in the winter season, these pears are grown in the Shirone district also known as the city’s “pear capital”. These pears are known for their superior fragrance with a hint of banana and smooth texture.

Fun Fact: Farmers usually pick these in late October & they will be ready to eat by December after they soften and turn yellow.

I can’t go back to eating my usual pears now after indulging in these.

Japanese Kinokawa (Black Flesh) Persimmon

Do you know about the benefits of Persimmon? Apart from the fact that it aids to bust hangovers, persimmons are known to be a great source of Vitamin C and Vitamin B-6!

These are not only super flavourful, but it gives you that added crunch while indulging in it too!

Kuroama (黒あま), got its “black sesame-like” flesh from aged tannin using a special growing technique and is harvested only when it is fully ripened, which results in a richer sweetness and non-astringent fruit. Growing along the Kinokawa River in Wakayama Prefecture, this provided a much-needed optimal breeding environment with plentiful minerals that enhances the flavour and texture of Kuroama Persimmon.

Only 1% of the batch is selected, and only the finest are carefully selected to be sold under the name “Kuroama”.

Fun Fact: Persimmons are actually the national fruit of Japan!

I don’t typically like persimmons because they tend to not be that juicy and kind of dry. This was the first persimmon I’ve ever had with actual juice inside of it!

Sweetness Level: 8/10

Saijou Dried Persimmon

Originated from Tottori Prefecture, Japan — Saijou さいじょう , translated to be “the very best one”, is one of the best varieties around for making half-dried (anpo) persimmons. The Saijo persimmon is an old Japanese variety that is ranked as the best tasting persimmon by gourmets. Wonderfully sweet flesh comparable to the flavour of honey!

Best of all? Knowing munching these gives me not only joy but packed with nutrition at the same time.

Japanese Orin Apple from Aomori

Pronounced as “oh-rin”, which also translates to “king of apples” — orin apples is the third most sought apple variety in Japan.

Orin apples are known to be an excellent source of vitamin C and dietary fiber! These were super sweet and crunchy. It’s also our first time trying Orin apples and, man, it’s no surprise why it’s so highly raved in Japan!

Japanese Benimadonna Orange

BeniMadonna (紅まどんな) is a hybrid between MinamiKaoru and Amakusa breed. It is large and wide in size with a good appearance and taste!

From Ehime Prefecture, Benimadonna is only usually available once a year during the month of December. Momobud recommends to best enjoy it by slicing into slices despite having thin outer skin which is perfectly attached to the pulp. With its excellent texture that spreads throughout your mouth with refreshing juice and scent!

Check out the size in comparison!

The best part of this orange is the soft juicy-jelly like pulps, which is why it is also known as the Jelly Orange! It’s super juicy and refreshing, and i highly recommend you to cart this out while it’s still available!

Sweetness Level: 9/10

Nagasaki Red Melon

Fun Fact: Do you know that muskmelons can be eaten in 2 ways? One in the semi-ripe state (solid flesh color) - which flesh is firmer and can be served in slices.

We waited it out for 4-5 days, sliced it & enjoyed it at its ripest state! The taste was bold, and to be honest - the sweetest melon I ever had in my life. The sweetness is impeccable! What a life-changing experience!
