Omakase Experiences In Singapore That's Worth Your Buck - From just $36/pax!

We’re back with another Omakase restaurants listing that’s worth your buck - from as low as just $36/pax! since the highly favoured 5 Affordable Omakase Restaurants Below $80 in Singapore!

We love the ambiguity, mysterious and excitement that comes with each Omakase experience. I don’t know about you, but it’s the fact that we are able to leave to the chef’s creativity and exploration to complete a unique dinner experience. Especially in recent years, I like that Omakase has become more accessible - with more affordable Omakase options, or some Omakase restaurants offering exquisite fresh seasonal items that’s brought in only during that period of time.

In this read, we bring you 5 different Omakase restaurants from ones that’s starting from $36/pax and save you from breaking the bank to ones that will guarantee a divine experience!

  1. Tajimaya ($$)

At only $88++ for the lunch set and $128++ for the dinner set, Tajimaya 8-course Omakase features a wide spread of seasonal items enjoyed in unique forms. Read our full Omakase lunch set review during July here.

What I like best about Tajimaya’s Omakase experience is that although the chef may serve you familiar ingredients/food that we may have tried in our lives, but it’s done so impressively well that it ends up blowing my mind - especially their Kaisen Chawanmushi and A4 Miyazaki striploin slices which still lingers in my heart up till today.

Aside from Omakase, Tajimaya is also well-known for its authentic charcoal grill yakiniku experience. So the next time if you can’t decide on Omakase or Yakiniku, you might as well settle for both at Tajimaya!

2. Rappu Handroll Bar ($)

See this content in the original post

Decked in Duxton road - the prime location for all your weekend night hangouts, Rappu Handroll Bar attracts long lines of queues almost every day. Here, you don’t get a menu with many extensive choices, instead, the main highlight is their set of six different types of premium sushi handrolls at $36++. We highly recommend you to top up your dining experience with their sake pairing (flight of six at $18++) which is a doubtless match with the handrolls! At Rappu, you are in great hands, so you know where to go on days when you are a tad too indecisive.

P/s: They have recently launched a pop-up concept: Mezcla, serving up japanese-mexican inspired tacos which will end this month end!

3. Kan Sushi ($$)

Kan Sushi in Robertson Quay is an authentic Japanese sushi restaurant serving dinner sets, omakase courses as well as ala carte items such as sushi, hand rolls, yakimono, and many more. But some of their highly-raved choices are their Omakase Sushi sets and their Omakase Sashimi sets. For 1 pax, I suggest opting for their Omakase Sushi set (9 pieces for $55) and the Omakase Sashimi 8 Kinds (Special) Set at $46! Alternatively, you can opt for their Omakase dinner course at $150!

All ingredients are freshly shipped from Japan weekly. I was exceptionally impressed with their sweet shrimp and sea urchin - the sweetness combined with the flavor of the seaweed will make you want to ask for more. The Robertson Quay branch also features a more relaxed and cozy atmosphere compared to their other branches, which is something I really like.

Sushi Kou is a restaurant born during the COVID pandemic. At $420++ Omakase Aya set, and $500++ for their Omakase Kou set, a trip to Sushi Kou (reservations are advised to be made way in advance as there is already a waiting list currently) will definitely not disappoint.

A side background story: Sushi Kou is led by Chef Yoshio Sakuta which was the previous head chef of Shoukouwa, the only sushi restaurant to receive Two Michelin Stars in Singapore.

At Sushi Kou, you can also enjoy the finest selection of world-class Sake, Wine, and Champagne, which is carefully crafted to complement their Sushi.

5. Yuzu Restaurant ($$$)

See this content in the original post

If you google Omakase in Singapore, Yuzu might not be on your first search page, neither is it covered by many foodie bloggers. However, this underrated hidden gem does deserve a shoutout.

This cozy small restaurant features 3 Omakase sets on their menu - Omakase Kazu for $120 per pax, Omakase Megumi for $170 per pax, and Omakase Kotobuki for $250 per pax. The chefs also give off the vibes like they were never out to fight for being the most popular omakase restaurant in Singapore, but rather the focus is on providing the undivided and unrivaled Omakase experience they want to offer to each of their customers.

You can also find the Special Crab Omakase Set (min. 2 pax order) for $350 per person during the winter season and expect air-flown fresh seafood and crabs served on your table.
