Review: Kiwami Ramen & Gyoza Bar Offers Local-Inspired Ramen and Craft Cocktails Infused With Pandan and Kopi Flavour!
Jewel Changi Airport is known for being a food paradise with plenty of options! Don’t miss out this new concept by En Group, Kiwami Ramen & Gyoza Bar’s latest outlet, situated beside its sister brand, Wa-En Wagyu Yakiniku.
This outlet has a sleek and stylish interior with red leather seats and gold accents decorating the small and cosy space. It also features a bar that allows you to enjoy its artisanal craft cocktails with a local twist.
Unlike the rest of its outlets, they offer premium selections of ramen with local-inspired flavours, featuring laksa, chilli crab, and more, alongside elevated Japanese sides.
Satay Gyoza ($10)
We started with the Satay Gyoza, served with 5 pieces of gyoza alongside a savoury traditional peanut sauce. The gyoza is fully stuffed with juicy minced pork that goes perfectly well with the peanut sauce, boasting a blend of sweet and rich peanutty flavours.
Chilli Crab Gyoza ($12)
Chilli Crab Gyoza is a dish not to be missed if you love chilli crab! It comes with Pork Gyoza topped with sweet shredded crab meat, and a flavourful Singapore chilli crab sauce. The sauce has a good balance of flavours between sweet and spicy that goes along with the savoury pork gyoza.
Lobster Laksa Ramen ($38)
We also managed to savour this comforting bowl of Lobster Laksa Ramen which comes with a traditional spicy laksa broth, boston lobster, narutomaki (Japanese fish cake), and Okinawa ramen egg. The rich, fragrant, and wonderfully umami-flavored broth goes perfectly well with the springy ramen and the juicy lobster.
Matcha Mille Crepe Cake ($9)
We wrapped up the meal with this luscious Matcha Mille Crepe Cake, served with a stack of paper-thin green tea crepes, topped with matcha sauce and some strawberries on the side. This delicate dessert melts in my mouth and is packed with delicious matcha flavor.
Cocktails
This outlet also offers a wide selection of artisanal craft cocktails with a local twist. Therefore, we decided to give it a go and got the Kopi Tonic ($18) and Clear Pandan Gimlet ($23). The Kopi Tonic is smooth, and it leaves you with a flavour of local mix coffee. While the Clear Pandan Gimlet fills your mouth with a fragrant note of pandan.
Final Thoughts
The food and cocktail impressed us, and I can see myself returning to try the other dishes in addition to the Lobster Laksa Ramen! This place is definitely worth paying a visit especially if you are in the mood for some Japanese and Chinese cuisines while waiting for your next flight to jet off!
