Review: Kyoto Skokudo Unveils New Dessert Featuring The Zuccotto Series

There is nothing better than indulging in a luscious dessert after a shopping therapy! Treat yourself to the ultimate sugar high by diving into Tokyo Shokudo's latest Zuccotto Series!

If you have not heard of Tokyo Shokudo, they are a halal-certified Japanese café that opened its door in October last year at Vivo City. This cozy and welcoming space serves Kyoto-style dishes and desserts, including irresistible delights like Matcha Parfait, Tiramisu, and Tokyo Shokudo Signature Beef Curry Rice.

Zuccotto

The Zuccotto Series comes in 6 different flavours, from Strawberry Cheesecake Zuccotto to Mix Fruit Zuccotto and Mango Zuccotto!

We went for the Strawberry Cheesecake Zuccotto ($) that comes in a dome shape with layers of sponge cake, whipped cream, and strawberries filled with a delicate white cream filling. This dessert is light and airy, boasting a delectable sweetness that will leave you craving for more.

Chicken Cutlet Beef Curry Rice

We also got to try their mains. First, we had the Chicken Cutlet Beef Curry Rice ($15.90), which comes in a generous portion. The crispy and juicy chicken cutlet complemented well with the rich and flavourful curry stew with tender pieces of beef.

Gyu Yakiniku Udon

Next, we tried this comforting bowl of Gyu Yakiniku Udon ($12.90). The broth is packed with savoury notes that go perfectly well with the thick udon and thinly sliced beef.

Drinks

We decided to order the Ice Matcha Shiratama Latte ($7.90) as we can't miss out on their Matcha menu. This drink is perfect for matcha fans as it boasts a rich and earthy flavor. It is also topped with a scoop of Matcha Ice Cream and two pieces of Mochi Balls for extra indulgence.

We also got the rejuvenating Lychee Lemon Tea ($6.90) which leaves a sweet and fragrant note- perfect for the sunny weather.

Final Thoughts

We really enjoyed all the dishes here, from the mains to desserts to drinks. Besides, it is worth the money for the quality which you are getting. I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.
