It was our first time having a charcoal BBQ meal in a private room. You may be wondering if the enclosed room will be filled with cooking fumes from the grill? The answer is no. The smoke extractor above the grill did a pretty good job of drawing smoke!

The sound of the meat sizzling on the grill was like music to our ears. The heat from sweltering charcoal cooked the premium Wagyu meat quickly and evenly, as we tried our best in achieving a medium rare doneness. We had all 3 meat cuts from the Suki-Yakiniku Wagyu Menu and our favourite was the fatty Wagyu Kalbi (pictured above). It literally burst into flames as soon it got onto the grill. On the same note, the cooked meat needed little chewing, it melted in our mouths, exploding with umami.

If you are new to Japanese yam, you may find the gooey texture an acquired taste. In our opinion, the addition of an raw egg & Japanese yam added another depth of flavours and textures to an otherwise ordinary suki-yakiniku sauce.
