Step Into The World of Hello Kitty At Tokyo National Museum

Hello Kitty fans, rejoice! From now to 24 February 2025, the Tokyo National Museum will be hosting a Hello Kitty Exhibition celebrating 50 years of the well-loved and iconic Sanrio character!

Created by Sanrio in 1974, Hello Kitty has grown into one of the world’s most beloved and recognisable characters, becoming a global cultural icon with endless merchandise inspired by her. As one of the main characters at Sanrio Puroland, it is no surprise that for Hello Kitty’s 50th Anniversary, the Tokyo National Museum is hosting an exhibition featuring the largest collection of Hello Kitty goods, original videos, and collaborations with artists. This showcase highlights how our beloved Kitty-chan has influenced animation, toys, fashion, and art over the decades.

You can get tickets in advance on Klook which retails at S$17.59, or you can also purchase tickets from their official website.

Hello Kitty Merchandise

Hello Kitty’s charm would not be complete without her irresistibly cute merchandise. From stationery and purses to handbags and rare collectibles, visitors can explore a wide range of paraphernalia and witness how Hello Kitty’s style and fashion trends have evolved over the years.

"Hello Kitty and Me”

There is a special section named “Hello Kitty And Me” featuring new artwork illustrations created by 30 different artists. These adorable and whimsical creations were crafted exclusively for the exhibition, celebrating the theme in charming and innovative ways.

Hello Kitty also integrates herself into notable masterpieces like “The Beauty Looking Back” and “The Wind God and The Thunder God Screen” from the Tokyo National Museum, blending tradition and modernity in a playful, artistic twist.
