In July 2020, the Nezumitamon Bridge, the largest wooden bridge in Kanazawa Castle, was restored for the first time in about 140 years. Unlike the other gates in the castle, the Nezumitamon Gate features distinctive Namako walls (traditional Japanese tiles used in old samurai residences in the Edo era in Japan) with raised black plaster joining rectangular tiles.

Each gate in the castle has its distinctiveness - all of them are unique and adds symbolic touches to this place. Be sure to check out this bridge when you visit Kanazawa Castle since this signifies what once stood here long ago.

Kenrokuen, known as one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan, is built by a Kaga feudal lord in the Edo period. This garden features hills, ponds, meanders, trees, flowers, and even teahouses. Another reason for its popularity is its ability to flaunt its natural beauty in all 4 seasons throughout the year! That’s some remarkable effort that had gone into the planning, design, and maintenance of this garden.
