Review: UME San 100 Launches New Relationship-themed Menu Behind Crashing Ocean Waves Storefront
Housed in Fortune Centre, UME San 100 is a quirky Umeshu & Highball bar serving the largest collecton of umeshu in Singapore. Discover the different profiles of umeshu made into exclusive cocktails at Ume San 100, served alongside classic and reinvented izakaya delights. Behind their refreshed storefront featuring crashing ocean waves of renewal, the umeshu specialist presents an exciting relationship-themed menu- a lineup of 'Ex, Boyfriend, and Girlfriend' libations, including an exclusive 1-for-1 promotion on the “Ex” Cocktail!
“Ex” Cocktail
Start afresh with the “Ex” Cocktail ($23), an umeshu-based concoction featuring in-house blend wasabi vodka, refreshed with Cointreau and citrus. We were pleasantly surprised by the wasabi, it certainly reminded us of the sushi we had for lunch. Order this exclusive cocktail to experience a sweet and spicy sensation on your taste buds!

Ladies, toast to your past relationships with a selection of boyfriend cocktails including Sugar Daddy, Trouble, Hot Mess and Tinder Swindler. Hot Mess is a lovely combination of rose umeshu, sauvignon blanc, elderflower umeshu and moe umeshu. We recommend Hot Mess if you are looking for a sweet, smooth and light cocktail. Fans of gin can go for Tinder Swindler- a blend of rose umeshu, Okinawa Gin #2, acid and butterfly pea-infused gin.

A bitter cocktail for the soul would be the Cougar Town consisting of Kujira Inari, Haitian Bitter, Swiss bitter, floral bitter and a dash of umeshu.

New On The Food Menu
Scrumptious snacks to spice up your drinking adventure include Angry Spam Fries ($12) served with smoky Sriracha dip and Puffer Fish (Fugu) Karaage ($18), a deep-fried indulgent snack served with special Yuzu dip. The spam fries was a nice alternative to the standard potato fries, a sinful yet comforting bar bite.
A delectable sharing platter is the 8 Kushi Moriwase ($18) which comprises of chicken mid-wings, tsukune with spicy sauce, teriyaki chicken and grilled shiitake mushrooms.
*The lineup may differ, subject to availability of ingredients.
Feeling hungry? Grab the Breakup Ramen ($20), a scallop truffle ramen served chilled with lightly seared XL Hokkaido scallops atop cold ramen doused in a housemade truffle dashi. This bowl of cold noodles was very palatable and paired well with the cocktails.
Round up the night with The Makeup Gelato ($12), an upgraded version of Ume San 100’s signature dessert. Dig into the vibrant flavours of strawberry cheesecake ice-cream with caramel sauce and crumbs. We enjoyed this sweet ending which refreshed our palates from the cocktails and fried dishes.
Experimental Umeshu Set
Umeshu connoiseurs, check out UME San 100’s extensive selection of umeshu creations, particularly the new Experimental Umeshu Set ($24), featuring a trio of umeshu cocktails such as Red Wine Umeshu (sweet), Yatagarasu Shiso Umeiri (balanced) and Tougarashi (spicy). We experienced an impressive burst of umeshu flavours in this “experiment”. Yatagarasu Shiso Umeiri stole our hearts; the union of shiso snd umeshu was really clever and refreshing!
