10 Japanese Restaurants For An Authentic Shabu Shabu Experience In Singapore
Beyond Chinese New Year, hotpot is often the go-to fuss-free dining option for Singaporeans, especially when dining in big groups or celebrating special occasions like Mother’s Day. Simply cook your preferred ingredients in a pot of simmering broth and viola. Most hotpot restaurants serve thinly sliced meats- perfect for a quick shabu shabu in the aromatic soup, while retaining the meat’s natural flavours. If you enjoy eating fresh ingredients cooked to perfection in a flavourful kombu dashi broth, read on for our curated list of Japanese restaurants offering an authentic shabu shabu experience.
Did you know that “shabu shabu” is derived from the sound – "swish swish" – produced when the ingredients are stirred in the boiling pot?
