Review: Paris2Tokyo Launches New 6-Course Omakase Menu Featuring Premium Ingredients Like A5 Wagyu, Uni, And More

Get ready for an enchanting rendezvous where Paris meets Tokyo, as you can embark on a mouthwatering journey of culinary innovation and flair at Paris2Tokyo with their new 6-course Omakase menu at $98! In case you have not heard of them, they are a Japanese x French fusion restaurant tucked away on Stanley Street. Helmed by Chef Ronald Li, with remarkable credentials including Michelin-starred Restaurant Andre and The White Rabbit (both restaurants are permanently closed).

The space boasts an intimate and cosy setting, decked with pink neon lights, making it a perfect go-to place for a date night! It also features a 4-seater bar where you can enjoy their selection of drinks- from red wine to whiskey to umeshu and more.

Flatbread

To start off the Omakase course, we had the Flatbread with Smoked Salmon, Hummus, Edamame, and Ikura. This appetiser packs a flavourful punch as the smoked salmon offered just the right hint of smokiness, while the ikura provided an explosion of umami flavor with each burst in the mouth.

Miyagi Oysters

Next, we had the Miyagi Oysters with Ponzu Dressing, sliced Shishito, Ikura, and Tobiko. These oysters were fresh and succulent, and the ponzu dressing contributed a pleasing balance of zesty and tangy flavors to the dish.

Pan-Seared Scallop

If you do not like raw dishes, cooked alternatives are available upon request. One of the dishes includes the Pan-Seared Scallop, which boasts a tender texture. The ikura also further enhances the taste, creating a truly exquisite experience for the palate.

Roasted Cod topped with Uni and Truffle

Following that, we savour this bowl of goodness featuring the Roasted Cod topped with Uni and Truffle. The cod was perfectly roasted, boasting a tender flakiness. The rich and velvety uni and truffle also elevated the dish with their unique taste, creating a harmonious blend that perfectly complemented the roasted cod.

Snow Crab Pasta

Then, we slurp down this flavourful Snow Crab Pasta served with succulent snow crab meat and tobiko. It was well-seasoned, and it definitely impressed us with its profound umami taste.

A5 Wagyu Rump

Before moving on to the final course, we had this juicy A5 Wagyu Rump accompanied by asparagus and pumpkin purée. The meat was incredibly tender and melted in our mouths. Not forgetting to mention, the pumpkin purée helps to enhance the overall flavour of this dish.

Alaska Bomb

We rounded off the Omakase with this indulgent Alaska Bomb dessert, accompanied by a captivating fire presentation that left a lasting impression on our dining experience. This delightful confection features a meringue layer with strawberries atop apple bites, and served alongside is a scoop of zesty lime sorbet, which adds a refreshing note to the palate.

Final Thoughts

We had a pleasant experience at Paris2Tokyo , and the dishes served were delicious. Besides, the space is so cozy and intimate- a perfect go-to place if you are going out on a date.
